Steven Gray Quest Teleidoscope

For this Steven Gray Quest teleidoscope  Steven has used a 50 mm crystal ball for a lens that is held to the body of the scope with three legs that also doubles as a stand. A teleidoscope is a kind of kaleidoscope, with a lens that focuses on objects outside the instrument, that combined with a mirror system forms a kaleidoscopic experience.

Here’s he’s created one with a 3-mirror, right angle mirror system, creating a “chorus line” (rectangular) image, with the fourth side of mirror blacked out.

Steven hand turns the wood on the lathe the body of the scope is made from beautiful domestic woods, in this case maple. The wood is then oiled and then buffed to bring out the woods natural splendor.
