Description

Chesnik Floret Dichroic Kaleidoscope Brass is a highly desirable, handheld brass kaleidoscope with two interchangeable and independently turning wheels created in a stained glass technique. One of the wheels is composed of highly reflective, textured dichroic glass, and the second wheel consists of smooth dichroic glass, which, in combination, produces a visual extravaganza of intense color. The usual response from a first-time viewer of Chesnik Floret Dichroic Kaleidoscope is a gasp and an exclamation of delight.

The majority of the image you see as you look through its eyepiece is created by the primary wheel, or the one closest to your eye, and the secondary wheel provides background or accent image. When you unscrew the knob holding the wheels and trade out the wheels front-to-back, you are rewarded with an entirely different kaleidscopic view.* The teardrop eyepiece affords a pristine view of the 8-point mandala. It is available in a 3-mirror system, but a 2-mirror is available upon request.

The kaleidoscope itself is 9″ long x 1.5″ diameter, and the wheels are 3″ in diameter. When sitting on its custom “Swiss cheese” walnut wooden base, the kaleidoscope is 6″ tall. None of the brass components of this kaleidoscope will ever tarnish, due to a sophisticated metal finishing process.

This is one of the gallery staff favorites for it creates a tighter image similar to traditional stain glass with a small black border in design.
