The #643 Toot Toot Engine is the forth and final engine in a series of small wooden train engines that were made by Fisher-Price from 1959 to 1987. The engine has movable pistons and it makes a “chug-chug” sound when pulled. All of the engines in the “series” have the same action and sound, they are just colored differently, based on litho paper have dated 1964 thou references do not all agree. Designed for children ages 1 to 3 years old. Wooden cut-out train engine with a rounded boiler that has red paper lithographs on the sides with a blue “sign” marked “Toot Toot” in white. The engine has a yellow plastic front grill and cowcatcher, a yellow plastic cab with a roof, a BLUE wooden smoke stack with white squares, and 2 BLACK wooden front wheels & 2 black PLASTIC front wheels with white plastic pistons attached. When pulled, the pistons move and the engine makes a “chug-chug” sound. The model number is just in front of the cab. Measures 6-1/4″ long, 4-1/4″ high, 3-1/4″ wide.
