Happy New Year from Art Of Toys
Ok it is already 2015 so it is time to get back to blogging … as I look at this I realize that I have not been here since Thanksgiving… sorry tis the season!
2014 was a fun year and we were able to show many exciting artists and toys and still get a bit of biz done and a few trips! Our goofy family theme Christmas was ChristmasCon and I went with a quick makeup job as my costume since I was rather involved with retail.
I still have not set the theme schedule for all the artists that have been checking in I apologize will happen soon. For sure we will repeat the following shows: Robots, Fairies and Monsters after that we are open to suggestions…help is always nice!
The question going into 2015 …are brick and mortar stores a thing of the past? Are we only going to be able to shop online, I know I have had this comment before but several more shops are closing in the Midtown area which is known for small independent shops and I wish I had a crystal ball. The convenience of online I love but being an old dog still love the interaction with the art in person and the “social” aspect of shopping. I hope there is room for both.
Anything “Frozen” was the hot ticket in 2014 which Art Of Toys did refrain from but in a few years when the product is vintage maybe we will be scrambling for it..I did say maybe! The work of Chris Cinder was the most sought after in 2014 at Art Of Toys and will continue for the new year.
A special thank you to all who helped support Art Of Toys in 2014 both in gallery and online. PLEASE share the online site with your family and friends and come visit the gallery if in Sacramento!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
