It’s the new year which means the trade shows are up and in gear! The concept of the trade show where you can touch, see and experience new art, product and concepts is quickly diminishing to be a thing of the past… I hope not but based on last years shows that were shockingly smaller than past years it seems to be the trend.
I hear online is taking over but nothing beats touching that piece of plush, rolling that truck or seeing the true colors and workmanship of art in person. I feel I need to have this experience for my customers so someone is checking out the art and toys before they purchase online which is a leap of faith for all.
My goal is for Art Of Toys to create a place where consumers feel comfortable that the product or art is actually better than the description and you know what to expect. For the artist showing online and in the gallery a place where they know they are with other caliber artists that will expand their vision and will be displayed and promoted.
This year my new year goal is too remember to write and photograph the trade shows as I get to experience them. I say this every year but once at the show become a kid in a really big playground and forget to document and share….more to follow…I promise!
