October will feature CARS

October will feature Cars in the gallery! Cars celebrates one of the our most beloved forms of transportation with art in some form of the automobile. Art Of Toys Cars Show will feature the unique perspective of photographer Alister Oliver , whimsical paintings from Wendy Giminski and the sleek designs of Julian Meager. Show will include car art, car photos, vintage and new toy cars.

On 2nd Saturday from 5 until dark we will have Artie Annette offering a FREE car art project for all ages! Start at Art Of Toys to get it all in before dark! There are 22 restaurants within a block of the gallery located in the heart of the Handle District.

Alister Oliver -The Grandson of a mechanic and the son of a Jaguar engineer, basically had no choice than to cherish and capture all types of automobiles in his memorable photos. All ages will appreciate the art found in the simple lines of design found in Alister’s photos. . Alister now calls Sacramento his home and can often be found shooting the local life of the Midtown grid.

Wendy GiminskiFamous for locking her keys in her car and actually being a blonde before she turned grey then red, Wendy Giminski has been illustrating, painting, drawing, constructing mixed media Gourd-o-ramas with small plastic toys, and making PBR bottle cap clocks for a REALLY long time.

Recipient of a Georgia Council for the Arts Grant in 1992-93, her BFA from Syracuse University in 1979 “back in the stoned ages”, as her daughter likes to tell her, has earned her many, MANY years of jobs in retail and service industry.

From 2001 to 2010 she was a Computer Graphics Artist for the University of Georgia until they closed her department. The past 6 years have been filled with more part -time retail jobs, more closings, layoffs and unenjoyments “insurance”.
