The art of Puppets is one of the oldest forms of theater dating back to the 5th Century BC. As an art form, theater and then toy is has a strong heritage. The month of September at Art Of Toys will be “Puppets” with Dan Crowley of Chicago as the feature artist along with art from T. Oliver Kopian , Robert Gordon and Sis. Art Of Toys will have vintage puppets, puppet related gifts, crafts and Folkmanis puppets as well as featured art.
Dan Crowley of Chicago delights Art Of Toys visitors with his whimsical finger puppets! Dan is know for doing one of a kind custom commissions which we will promote for him this month. Dan’s medium is polymer clay where each face alone has a minimum of 18 separate pieces of clay that must be sculpted into place.
Local artist “Sis” will have a collection of handcrafted textile puppets that also double as wine bottle covers. Will have the entire cast of Punch and Judy in the window so come and experience one of the oldest forms of theater at Art Of Toys.
