Spokes – Bike Bell Art is this month’s theme show at the gallery in Sacramento Handle District in celebration of Bike Month! We invited 48 artists to create an original piece of art on a working bike bell for a very diverse interpretation of art vs. utility. The challenge for Art Of Toys has been to get the bells back…needless to say we will not have all 48 for various reasons but it is still a really fun show with very affordable one of a kind art!
Chris Cinder who has carved a semi permanent spot at Art Of Toys and a nice collectors base has created 4 individual pieces, including Somebody to Love, which sold when the doors opened…still three different images available that will be loaded to site.
Artists with bells on the wall so far are Camilla Carper, Laura Caron (waiting for Michael Caron’s) Chris Cinder, Dante Declarador, Anna DuBois, Karen Dukes, Laurelin Gilmore, Kristi Hughes, Tj. Lev, Amber Massey, Mark Manning, Kristina McClanahan, Jill O’Grady, Julie Okahara, Kelly Elizabeth O’Neil, LaLa Ortiz, Winnie Rose Reyes, Duch Wilder, and Elizabeth Wocasek.
More to follow!
And again this month, Artie Annette will have a craft project out front on 2nd Saturday evening! This month will be a bike theme, of course.
