“ROBOTS” Gallery Show May 1st thru June 9th

Featured Art:

Chris Cinder a Sacramento artist will be featuring hIs  cardstock originals and his original fun quirky paintings of robots at play. Better known as “Cinder”, he is a true born doodler-dreamer turned artist-gamer. His influences are: music, sci-fi movies, comic books, anime, hobby games and video games. Ultimately, his work focuses on story and the characters in that story.  Many of the pieces will follow a character through its adventures and discoveries.

John Barret will introduce his fine art assemblage robot pieces at Art Of Toys. John rescues toys and redefines them into cigar box art! His journey into Cigar Box Art started as did the plein air painters, using the box tops for quick studies, and small oil paintings; but it soon morphed into using the whole Cigar Box as a more dimensional and sculptural art piece. When the news hit that some smaller toys were considered a choking hazard, and parents and schools were getting rid of them, my toy rescue took off. Parents, children, Sunday Schools, and pre-schools began giving him tiny toys to use in his art.

Garry Gay not only is a fabulous photographer but collects toy robots which reflect in his unique perspective captured in his photos. Garry has worked in Northern California as a professional photographer for over 37 years. He began his career in Marin County as a studio photographer before becoming an advertising photographer in San Francisco. He has been shooting stock for the Image Bank, now Getty Images, for over 28 years. He is currently represented world wide by nine stock photo agencies.

Robert Gordon has been a Sacramento Legend for years by recycling pieces into art years before it was trendy to do so. He has some really fun one of a kind robot paintings for this show. Over the years Gordon’s work has adorned a good portion of Midtown’s small business window fronts, and their interiors, seasonally splashing businesses for the holidays with his wet colors. He is known for recycling everyday products into his sustainable art. He has combined his eclectic style of Folk Art with the contemporary modren robot art for a unique look at the robot as art.
