Description
Antique sailor toddler doll is bisque with detailed sculping including hands, ears and even ridges in socks. This little treasure in a sailor suit, without marks, 3 1/8 inches tall, shoulder and hip hard wire. Top poured hole has real human hair inserted. Paint details are very good. Unfortunetly sometime in this wonder’s life it was broken and then repaired at neck and right leg at pant cuff. Due to repair glue discoloring repair is visible but tightly glued. The addition of human hair is rare in these small German production Candystore dolls.
Butler Brothers Wholesale catalogue for Fall 1908 lists these dolls in a bordered display box as “Sailor Boy Bisque Dolls” .
