Description
This bisque Carnival doll, Made in Japan probably in the 1920’s. These dolls are variously known as Carnival dolls, Betty Boop dolls, Frozen Charlottes, and/or Kewpies, although none of these names are technically correct. Whatever you call them, these cuties are irresistible. This pretty girl is about 4 5/8″ tall. Her legs are frozen and her arms are made separately and attached by a elastic band (loose-could be replaced). Her hair is detailed molded curls and painted gold. Facial features are painted on complete with eyelasses, brows and rosie cheeks. Gold shorts with a painted side detail complete the look. She is marked “Made In Japan” on her back in mold.
