Girl with Jointed Shoulder Clutch Cloche Hat

Description

 Girl with jointed shoulder clutch cloche hat from Japan. This darling doll has very detailed painted details with olive clutch and burgandy hatband molded painted hair. Orange painted shoes. Arms are jointed at shoulder with elastic string attachment. Back has incised marking “MADE IN JAPAN”  and a “circled 3” placing doll 1930-40.  This doll is 3.5″ tall.

All bisque dolls were primarily manufactured in France, Germany and Japan. German companies were the most prolific until World War I when German goods were no longer available. At this time Japan increased it’s production of dolls. Many were copies of the German dolls.made a number of original models..
