Description
Darling vintage jointed bisque baby doll made in Japan 1930s with wire pinioned arms and legs has entire body, arms, legs painted a peach tone. Painted face details with clean sculpting including ears. Bisque is unglazed porcelain; usually molded into shape then baked in high temperatures in a “kiln” to form doll heads and doll body parts. The paint looks to have been applied after firing resulting in some scuffs. There is markings on back in mold but paint has filled in, so head had an additional “JAPAN” stamped on back. Doll can be seated is approx 2.5″ laying down and has a nice weight in hand.
