Description
Wake up to pure joy! Sunrise Monster greets each day with tongue-lolling enthusiasm in the most vibrant shade of orange imaginable. This exuberant creature is all about texture and dimensional detail—heavy embroidered eyebrows frame wide eyes, a bulbous nose protrudes proudly, and rosy circular cheeks add a flush of warmth. But the showstopper is that extraordinary pink tongue, intricately embroidered with concentric spiral patterns that curl all the way to the tip as it unfurls in gleeful abandon. A wild mop of brown textured hair crowns the top, while beaded teeth peek out around the edges of that magnificent tongue. Mounted on a cool blue circular plaque, the complementary color pairing makes the orange practically glow.

Artist Statement: Discovering the faces that live within the canvas with the stroke of a needle is a journey with each piece created. It all starts with the eyes and builds from there and magically a new creature is born. The series in gray was first conceptualized as a canvas piece to paint on but so much came from the stark gray that the series continues to grow each piece totally different and unique.
Terri has been creating toys since she was a child and studied Textiles in school. Learning the craft of the toy maker is a dream that has taken a life time to achieve and now is able to incorporate into her artwork..
