Description
This wonderful Chesnik kaleidoscope art Pedestal Dichroic chrome kaleidoscope by Jon Greene is attached to a wood base making it the perfect accessory for your desk! Jon Greene handmade this work of art for Chenik Scopes.
It has an expanded 2 mirror system, which uses a triangle of mirrors, but one side is blacked out, making a single circular design surrounded by black. Depending on the angle of the mirrors as the 2 wheels rotate the image can have a 4,5,6, all the way up to over 100 points of design!
The glass in the wheels of this scope has been coated with thin layers of such exotic metals as titanium and zirconium. The metals are evaporated in a vacuum chamber and deposited onto glass in a very fine degree of thickness which allows some wave-lengths of light to pass though, while others are deflected. This causes the glass to change color when viewed from different angles, and as the two wheels pass over each other, the colors created are fantastic!
Scope is an 9”L by 1 ½”diameter chrome tube fixed to a small A frame style black wood pedestal base. The hand finish on this Chesnik kaleidoscope art Pedestal Dichroic will not tarnish and is signed by Jon Greene. Each scope contains a +250 strength magnifying lens for a clear and sharp image.
